Make no mistake: This job is tough, and it’s repetitious. But remember, you’re brewing beer for a living! If you’re willing to break a sweat and learn the Troegsway, our brewing team – with a combined 70+ years of experience – has the structure and depth to help you develop a top-notch skill set. You’ll be exposed to a never-ending stream of recipes (last year we brewed more than 100 different beers) while you focus on weighing raw ingredients, dry hopping, fruit additions, and tank CIP’s all of which will lead to you learning to run our 100-barrel brewhouse and filter our beers. You’ll also have the opportunity to join our Sensory Panel and make periodic educational trips to local malthouses and hop farms.
Daily Duties, Functions, Responsibilities:

Daily CIP of fermentation tanks and bright beer tanks
Work closely with brewing team to achieve desired quality and production targets.
General cleaning of cellar and brewhouse areas including floors, vessels, piping, etc.
Periodic handling of hazardous chemicals
Continually maintain all productions areas including equipment – (mill room, brewhouse, fermentation, filtration, spent grain area, bulk grain and grain storage area, as well as all walkways and driveways around or leading to brewhouse and cellar)
Monitor CO2 levels in beer
Attend production meetings and contribute to product improvement
Work with other production and non-production departments as assigned and needed to fulfill orders
Be courteous and professional to anyone visiting the brewery
Skills and attributes necessary for this position:
Professional brewing experience OR formal brewing education REQUIRED
The ability to work well independently and with a team (often in close physical proximity)
Ability to routinely and repetitively lift 55lbs 60” high – occasionally 170 lbs.
Ability to work flexible shifts with varying hours, including weekends and holidays.
Forklift certification is required. (Will Train)
Must have the ability to get to work on time to keep a production schedule
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, be computer literate, and have familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel). Must pass evaluation.
Ability to identify product deficiencies
Bonus Skills: Mechanical, electrical and plumbing experience
40 hour work week
Monthly rotational shift:
First Shift: 7 am – 3:30 pm
Second Shift: 3 pm – 11:30 pm
Third Shift: 11 pm – 7:30 am.
