The Team 
It’s a little clichéed, but HR Managers at Fort Point wear a lot of hats. We’re a fast growing company with a lot going on and we’re looking for someone to join our growing People team to help support candidates and new employees through that growth.
The Role
This position will primarily focus on full cycle recruiting, onboarding, and employee development. But any candidate must also be able to jump in and help with other HR matters.
Organization, preparation, and a strategic, long-term mindset are equally as important to success in this position as an ability to shift focus and execute quickly in a fast paced environment. The HR Manager focuses on finding solutions that benefit individuals and the organization as a whole.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Manage talent acquisition and collaborate with the Director of People and department heads to develop agile hiring policies that help grow our skilled workforce
  • Build a hiring process that assesses candidate’s ability to perform in the job
  • Help hiring managers with drafting job descriptions and job postings
  • Ensure employee success through the first 90 days by helping develop and manage a robust onboarding process
  • Work with department heads to create and administer Performance Review cycles
  • Build a culture of engagement aimed at educating employees on benefits, company policies, and participation in company programs
  • Analyze hiring and employee engagement metrics & apply feedback to improve recruiting and retention
  • Maintain compliance with Federal, State, and local laws in the development and execution of policies and procedures
  • Advise staff on available company and government resources
Secondary Duties/Responsibilities
  • Assist Director of HR with HR software procurement
  • Assist Director of HR with refining policies and procedures for documentation
  • Assist with employee separations advising managers on policies and documentation
  • Assist with employee benefits management
  • Assist with conflict resolution
  • 5+ years experience in recruiting, onboarding, and human resources
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience managing projects, identifying stakeholders, and building consensus
  • Familiarity with basic San Francisco and California payroll and employment laws
  • Active listening
  • Advanced spreadsheet experience (Excel, Google, Numbers)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Highly detail oriented and organized
  • Reliable, responsible, and proactive attitude
  • Highly motivated and works well both independently and in a team environment
  • Adaptable to change; ability to learn new software platforms
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
  • Experience with diversity recruiting preferred
Expected Hours of Work
  • 8:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday – Friday with some flexibility
